“When you talk to people about health, and they can’t hear you, nothing changes.”

A word (or two) from our founder:

“At some point, you will screw up. Life happens. My job is to have your back. Whether you are a colleague or a client, you need to know that I care. As a community, we will figure it out.”

When I was eight weeks pregnant with our third child, my partner died of a massive stroke. One minute he was there eating chips with the kids and a couple of hours later, he was gone. I’m not telling you this because I want your pity. I don’t. Or so that you can call me Superwoman. I’m not. I’m telling you this because I understand that life happens, and we’re all human.

I’m passionate about my team, my clients and my work, and we will always exceed your expectations. But without empathy and humanity, we can’t create relationships founded on trust and respect.

Without trust, we will not do our best work. Nor will we feel safe and empowered. Bring your whole self to work. Some days that might not be your ‘best’ self, but that’s ok.

Be humble. Don’t assume. Listen. Diversity of thinking isn’t enough. It’s a start, but without true diversity of life experiences, our work will not represent the rich tapestry of humanity, and it will miss so many opportunities to engage.

My vision for Intent Health is to create a community where difference is celebrated. Where everyone has a true voice, and one that is heard. Where we don’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations. Where we accept that constructive conflict creates the best ideas, because if we all agree, what is the point? Where empathy and trust are the foundations of our relationships with colleagues and clients. Where we step aside and give others a chance. Where we embrace life and celebrate both our successes and our mistakes.
